As per the instruction manual, the heater has to be connected directly to the battery to avoid any voltage drops/surges. NO Alteration to the wiring harness is permitted.  The cap on the fuel tank is vented, possible spills can occur if the tank is overfilled or riding on rough terrain. Please purchase a separate fuel cap and block the vents if this will be an issue for you.
