Upper: The engineered mesh upper reduces the need for additional overlays to keep weight low, while a lace band elastic strap on the tongue keeps laces secured and away from trail obstacles, and a gusseted sand guard tongue blocks dirt and debris from working into the shoe during runs.

Midsole: FF BLAST MAX foam, ASICS\' most energetic midsole compound, delivers cloud-like softness at impact and a responsive toe-off, with a flexible nylon rock protection plate positioned between the midsole and outsole to shield the foot from sharp rocks and uneven ground on technical trails.
