✔ This rug carries a bold village rhythm softened by time — grounded, graphic, and full of Eastern Anatolian soul.
Handwoven in the Van region of Eastern Anatolia, this vintage Kurdish kilim reflects the strong geometric language the area is known for. Repeating diamond medallions form a structured lattice across the field, framed by stepped borders and rhythmic tribal guard bands. The composition feels balanced and architectural, yet the subtle irregularities reveal the hand of the weaver — giving it warmth beyond the geometry.
The palette is beautifully earthy and crisp at the same time: clear cochineal red, warm ivory, soft stone gray, muted greige, and gentle taupe accents. The contrast feels graphic but not harsh. Natural abrash and slight tonal shifts add depth and authenticity, especially in the red field where age has softened the saturation just enough.
Flatwoven from wool, it has a smooth, durable surface ideal for everyday living while still reading as textile art. Its 4\'8\" × 7\'10\" size makes it extremely versatile — perfect for a living room, under a smaller dining table, bedroom, studio, or layered in a collected interior.
